About Field Notes

Nature, creativity
& shared curiosity.

Field Notes is an ecological design practice for people who want to pay closer attention—to their neighbourhoods, their shared places, and the stories held in small, ordinary encounters.

How this began

Looking is a practice.

Field Notes began with a habit: going out for a walk, bringing a notebook, and coming back with more questions than answers. It grew into a way of working across illustration, photography, guided walks, workshops and design.

The work is for lifelong experts and people who have only just started wondering what calls from the tree outside their window. No competition, no perfect knowledge—just the invitation to notice together.

Everything here is grounded in real encounters with places, species and people. It is a growing archive, not a finished statement.

What guides the work

Care has a practical side.

01

Stay curious

Ask the next question. Let uncertainty keep the door open.

02

Make room

Nature belongs to everyone who wants to build a relationship with it.

03

Return often

The best understanding is built slowly, by coming back to a place.

The people behind it

Small team,
wide attention.
